Vacant units

A unit without a tenant: what stays off while it's vacant, and how an invitation fills the lease.

Step by step

  1. 1Create a unit without a tenant — or clear the lease fields of an existing one — and it's vacant: no tenant, no lease dates.
  2. 2While a unit is vacant, tenant-facing billing stays off. Rent can't be set up — there's no one to bill — so nobody is ever charged for an empty unit.
  3. 3When someone moves in, invite them by email — accepting the invitation completes the lease and opens their tenant portal.

Good to know

Vacant units stay fully editable, so notes, documents and details can be prepared before anyone moves in.
