Acceptable Use Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective: Jul 14, 2026 · Last updated: Jul 14, 2026
1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy (the "Policy") applies to everyone who uses RUMA — landlords, property teams, and tenants. It is part of the Terms of Service; a serious or repeated violation may lead to suspension or termination as described there.
2. General prohibitions
- unlawful content or activity, and infringement of anyone else's rights;
- attempts to breach security, access data or a Workspace that isn't yours, or bypass consent and privacy settings;
- uploading malware, or scraping, overloading, or unauthorized load-testing of the Service;
- impersonating another person, or forging leases, signatures, payment records, or an interaction history.
3. Rental-specific prohibitions
Because RUMA is used between landlords and tenants, the following are specifically prohibited:
- discriminatory listings, screening criteria, or messages — including discrimination based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or disability;
- threats, harassment, or retaliation against the other side of a lease, and pressure aimed at unlawful eviction;
- publishing identity documents without a lawful purpose, doxxing, or covert surveillance;
- unlawful tenant screening, unlawful debt-collection practices, or deceptive fees.
4. Payments
RUMA records rent that tenants report and landlords confirm; it does not move or hold money. Do not use the Service's payment records to misrepresent what was paid, to fabricate receipts, or to pressure anyone through false payment claims.
5. Enforcement
We may remove content, limit features, or suspend or terminate access to keep the Service safe and lawful, as set out in the Terms. Reports of abuse or a security issue: support@ruma.rent. Operator: StatGazer LLC, a New York limited liability company, 418 Broadway, STE R, Albany, NY 12207, USA.
